The unity of opposition coalition NASA is facing another test in Western Kenya after pro-Mudavadi and Wetangula elected leaders in western Kenya threatened to withdraw their funds in Raila Odinga's campaign.
The leaders mostly MCAs said Odinga's party ODM led by Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya has frustrated them by allocating more county leadership positions to its members and leaving Ford-Kenya and ANC MCAs in the cold.
The MCAs claimed has favored ODM and labeled ANC which is a NASA member party the enemy in the region.
"Oparanya purports to be forming an inter-party committee to campaign for Raila. He is on record for declaring ANC as the enemy in the county. He has ensured both ANC and Ford-Kenya are left out of all meaningful position in the county," said Kakamega ANC chairman Julius Arunga.
However, Oparanya has dismissed the claims of favoritism saying those not willing to campaign for Odinga will not be forced to join in.
NASA coalition has even come up with a pay bill number to seek for money hence if the Kakamega MCAs make their threats real, the opposition will lose the much needed financial muscle to face President Uhuru Kenyatta.
