Just days after Daily Nation revealed intrigues in the newly constituted National Super Coalition; the crisis could escalate further following claims by senior ODM official that Raila Odinga remains undisputed leader in the pact.
A section of Ukambani leaders led by Wavinya Ndeti on Tuesday insisted that they will not back anyone for presidency other than Kalanzo Musyoka.
“Our option one is Kalonzo, option two Kalonzo because he is widely accepted across the board,” said Ndeti amid claims that Musyoka had met President Uhuru Kenyatta.
But ODM lawyer Edwin Wafula insists that Kalonzo’s candidature is uncalled for adding that Odinga has realistic chances of beating his opponents.
“Let us face the truth because Kalonzo cannot shake the corrupt regime. It is only Raila who can beat this bunch of thieves,” he said on his Facebook post.
With only five months to elections, the opposition outfit NASA is in limbo over procedure to choose its flag bearer.
Even though the technical committee constituted to frame the working relationship maintains all is well, it is yet to give its verdict to principals of NASA affiliate parties.
