National Super Alliance principals could yet again face a tough headache over nominations across the country, just few days after the opposition coalition was formed.
The technical committee, according to the Standard, had identified at least ten counties where joint nominations are inevitable should they not risk losing to Jubilee.
And a section of aspirants have dismissed the idea even before the coalition makes it official, questioning the mode of elections.
“I always believe in democracy and I don’t see any reason to force people to do joint nominations,” said Anasi Onyancha, who eyes Nyamira gubernatorial seat on a Wiper ticket.
Janet Kumenda, who eyes Nyamira Women Representative seat, adds: “Let us face each other on ballot. There is no essence of coercing people with similar ambitions over an issue that can be solved on ballot.”
However, the secret document indicates that candidates could be asked to arrive at the decision through consensus since NASA does not have a common arrangement like that found in individual parties.
Some of the counties that could be severely affected should the decision stand include Kisii, Narok, Garissa, Turkana and Trans Nzoia.
