[Photo|Lee Kinyanjui]A private chopper crashed and sunk in Lake Nakuru, Saturday morning.Below are some of the developments about the incident.1. The chopper is attached to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party presidential campaign team.2. It had the pilot, journalists attached to Nakuru County senator Susan Kihika's press unit; four men and a lady.3. It had taken off from Jerika County Lodge in Nakuru, slightly after 6am, Saturday.4. It was headed for Mau Narok, where President Kenyatta, was to campaign.5. It was to be refuelled upon arrival and later head back to Nakuru, to pick journalists of Mediamax and Royal Media Services, to cover the event.6. The chopper was parked at Jerika County Lodge the night to Saturday October 21.7. The chopper's registration number is 5Y NMJ.8. Women near the lake, spotted it floating in the waters, before alerting Kenya Wildlife Service officers, who later informed the county government authorities.9. The chopper has occasionally been ferrying journalists to Jubilee Party political campaigns.10. Journalists who use the chopper, are well known to each other, I.e Jemtai Goin, Jacque Maribe.11. Only a tail of the plane could be seen from far, as at 1pm, Saturday.12. National Disaster Management Unit, has organised for Kenya Navy services to arrive at the lake, for rescue mission. A rescue boat from Lake Victoria is as well enroute, to help out.13. Police choppers are hovering around the scene.14. It is suspected that occupants could not be alive as at now, since the chopper, crashed moments after taking off, possibly due to bad weather, and heavy rains.
