Just hours after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was cleared by his party's National Elections Board to vie for presidency in August, fresh crisis might hit Opposition NASA.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) coordinating committee co-chairman James Orengo on Thursday said the Memorandum of Understanding between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Kalonzo in 2013 was never deposited with the registrar of political parties.

The Siaya senator said the MoU was a gentlemen agreement, and not legally binding, hence it was now water under the bridge.

"The document was never deposited with the Registrar of Political Parties. If it was, then it could be a public document that anyone can request and get," he said.

The sentiments by Orengo may not go down well with Wiper leaders from Ukambani region, who have repeatedly asked Raila to respect the 2013 MoU, thus making NASA unity fragile.

National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze, Senator David Musila and a section of Ukambani leaders have been advocating for the 2013 MoU between the two leaders.

Orengo also encouraged NASA supporters not to be worried over the coalitions' unity, even after Kalonzo was declared Wiper Democratic Movement presidential candidate.

He said it was a good move since all principals are just positioning themselves.

He also said they were on course in their mandate as a committee to give their recommendations for picking NASA's flag bearer.

Will the sentiments by Orengo break NASA?
