Mr Ali Elama Wario was also slapped with a one-month sentence for being in Kenya illegally.

He accepted the charges of being in the country illegally but denied that he is a member of the Al-Shabaab and an accomplice to the raid on Dp Ruto's home.

Elama deny the charges despite State prosecutor Ms Everlyn Maika telling Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot that the accusedused to communicate with the slain terror suspect at the rural home of the deputy president using a cell phone.

“Police from the anti-terrorism police unit (ATPU) has discovered through investigations that the accused is still communicating with members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group,” Maika stated.

Elama's lawyer David Ayuma asked the courts to release his client on bond but Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot will determine the matter on Friday whether the accused will be released on a bond.
