Just a day after officially declaring interest in Nairobi gubernatorial post through a Jubilee party ticket, Peter Kenneth has been declared an 'outcast'.
The former 2013 presidential aspirant found himself at the receiving end, after fellow Nairobi Jubilee aspirants, rejected his bid.
The County's senator Mike Sonko, who also eyes the seat, through same party, publicly rejected Kenneth, and accused him of trying to bribe him (Sonko) so as to leave the seat for him (Kenneth).
"The other day, he came to me and asked me to leave my Jubilee party gubernatorial ambitions for Sh1 billion. I can not accept such. I am determined to become the governor of Nairobi County and no one can buy me,'' Sonko said Sunday.
Fellow aspirants such as Dennis Waweru (Dagoretti South MP), Johnston Sakaja (Nominated MP) and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru said they would not allow Kenneth get a Jubilee party ticket, since he betrayed president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013.
"He wanted Uhuru to go to the Hague in 2013 so that he could become the president. Why is he coming back, claiming he wants to vie through Jubilee? There's no Jubilee space in Nairobi for anyone who ever opposed our president,'' added Sonko.
The former Gatanga MP however has maintained that he will seek nomination and vie through the Jubilee despite opposition.
Nominated Senator Beatrice Elachi, James Gakuya (Embakasi North MP), Rachel Shebesh (Nairobi Women MP) and Maina Kamanda (Starehe MP) however said, things will fall in place, and all candidates agree on who should vie on a Jubilee ticket to unseat incumbent Dr Evans Kidero.
The politicians had met at a Church service, at Jesus Is the Answer Ministries, led by by Bishop Wanjiru.
