NASA leader Raila Odinga could suffer a setback in his efforts to establish a People's Assembly.
This is after Bunge la Mwananchi movement opposed the move, saying it is a duplicate of what they have.
Chairman Henry Shitanda told the former Prime Minister to abandon his initiative and instead join them.
"Raila's plans to take over the already established platform will not be accepted but will be allowed to join like any other Kenyan," he said while addressing journalists at Jeevanjee Gardens in Nairobi, Thursday.
Without elaborating, Shitanda said part of the NASA agenda was contrary to the core mission and tenents of his movement.
This comes as Raila took the first step towards the establishment of the people's assemblies at the county level.
On Thursday, Raila met Opposition governors and agreed on moving the ground to launch the groups at their counties.
"Governors from NASA today approved the coalition's plans to set up a People's Assembly and initiate a review of the Constitution particularly to safeguard and strengthen devolution in line with the pronouncement by principals earlier this week," read a statement from NASA CEO Norman Magaya.
