[Photo|Daily Nation]The civil society under the Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu umbrella filed the last petition challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election at the Supreme Court Registry slightly before the Monday midnight deadline.Led by lawyer Harun Ndubi, the coalition of 12 rights groups and civil activists filed the petition despite an order issued Monday by the NGO Coordination Board saying the coalition was not registered and should cease all activities in Kenya.However the activists during a press conference dismissed the allegations by the Board's CEO Fazul Mohammed, saying it was a plot by Jubilee administration attempt to suppress dissenting voices by stopping a court challenge."We are demonstrating that the fresh election held on October 26 was an illegal election," said Ndubi, a lawyer for Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu."We are also seeking to demonstrate they committed illegalities and irregularities that would serve to invalidate it as well and that the commission was so partial it wasn't able to run an election," Ndubi told the press at the Supreme buildings.In the petition, the coalition has listed Kenyatta, the IEBC and Opposition's NASA coalition as respondents.The election petition is third after that of former Kilome MP Harun Mwau and the Black Flag Movement.
