James Ongwae’s political strategists could now go to the drawing board following Joash Maangi’s latest political declaration.
The embattled Kisii Deputy Governor, who had ditched his boss and announced his gubernatorial bid, on Friday, reaffirmed his support to the county boss,.
In yet again unprecedented move, Maangi told mourners in Marani that he had no problem working with Mr. Ongwae.
“I hear people saying that I am always opposing our governor. The Bogetutu people should defend this seat because the governor has done some good job,” he said during the burial of Abuya Abuya, an ODM chairman for Kitutu Chache North.
“He deserves a re-election and I have no problem with him,” added Maangi, who had decamped to Jubilee and vowed to contest for Kisii governorship.
And his move could scuttle Ongwae’s plans since he had settled on Peter Kimori, an Engineer to deputize him on August.
Should Maangi stick to his latest move, and then Kisii senator Chris Obure will be Jubilee’s gubernatorial flag bearer.
