A hot social media battle has ensued between supporters of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and those of his rival in the August 8 polls Mr Francis Mureithi.
The controversial babu Owino has been posting hourly updates on the recounting process with his latest posts alleging that he is currently in the lead with over 10,000 votes.
"In 88 polling stations, I am leading with 24102 votes against my unworthy opponent with 9203 votes.God bless Embakasi east constituency," reads Babu's post.
However, a section of Mureithi's supporters has disputed the update by the Embakasi East lawmaker saying their leader is currently enjoying a comfortable lead against Mr Owino.
"This is the fact on the ground. We are coming for our certificate. Ongili is losing Embakasi East parliamentary seat, he is spreading propaganda that he is leading in all polling stations. Our Man Francis Muriithi is still ahead with 26835 votes against Ongiri 24102 votes in a recount ordered by the Court. Babu Owino will be the shortest serving MP in Kenya. After which the Air India is waiting for him to be deported back to his country India," said one of Mureithi's supporters.
The closed-door affair is set to come to a close soon hence residents of Embakasi East will have to wait a little longer to know who will represent them at the August house for the next five years.
