Controversy continued to dog the transfer details of former Ulinzi Stars striker Stephen Waruru after Kenya Premier League side Tusker FC confirmed signing him days after Sofapaka also claimed so.
According to Tusker FC interim coach Francis Baraza, the diminutive striker is among the five players that the Brewers signed by last Saturday.
"So far we have signed five players. We have signed Muchika from Muhoroni Youth,Waruru from Ulunzi Stars,Apollo from Chemelil Sugar,Okoth from Western Stima and Qmbunya from Kqkamega Homeboyz. We are still in talks with our other targets and we hope to conlude more deals in the coming days," he told local sports website Soka.co.ke.
Earlier on, Sofapaka president Elly Kalekwa had announced that the 2009 had acquired the services of the former soldier as he was quoted by the club's portal.
The news from Tusker is likely to strike a huge blow upon the Batoto Ba Mungu family who were already looking forward to a season with the Kenyan international who bagged thirteen goals for his Ulinzi side in the recently concluded Kenya Premier League, 2017 season.
Of interest however is the fact that Waruru's last match for Ulinzi was against Tusker where he scored two goals to as the Soldiers walloped the Brewers 4-0.
