With details of the deal remaining scanty, lieutenants allied to the two leaders are giving contradicting information, a move that could scuttle the deal.

Firebrand ex-Kitutu Masala MP Timothy Bosire, who doubles as ODM treasurer, now says the party is keen to have fresh polls in August.

"A fresh, free and fair general election should be organized for August this year to pacify and entrench the new fresh of brotherhood and National healing.

"That's if Uhuru and Jubilee want the world and Kenyans to believe they are honest in reaching out to Raila and the opposition for genuine peace," wrote Bosire, in one of the local paper.

Further,  Bosire adds,  the new elections should be supervised by the international community,  to curb any rigging attempts.

Kenyans were subjected to protracted electioneering period last year,  after the Supreme Court ordered new presidential polls, following nullification of August polls.
