Two days after the death of Meru University student leader Evans Njoroge the varsity Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor are yet to record statements with the police pertaining the murder of the students association Secretary General leading questions whether it was them that had invited the police.
It is also sad to note that the police officer that allegedly killed Njoroge has not been arrested. Reliable sources claim that the officer he was spotted around Meru town on Wednesday but some well-known person in the force is protecting the officer from arrest.
The family of Njoroge have also come out to demand justice. They say they sent him to campus to get an education, not the bullet.
“The family had a lot of hope in him, especially since he is my only son in a family of seven. Despite being the fourth born, everyone thought he would uplift the family's standards. His star shone bright and we predicted a bright future for him," said Peter Njoroge Gathuri, Evan's father.
