Just a few days after Nakuru county government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with four groups representing hawkers, shoe shiners, photographers, touts and Mashambani open door self help group to allow them jointly manage Mashambani Public toilet, located within Nakuru central Business District, things seem not yet in order as a group of seven people are trying to interfere with the management of the premise.
Addressing the media outside the premise on Wednesday morning, Mashambani Manamba Matatu Operators Group chairman Mr. John Gachau condemned the group of 7 individuals who are out to interfere with the management of the promise.
“We entered into a memorandum with the county government over the management of this toilet and therefore we don’t want to hear anyone trying to interfere with us. Those talking about court order they should take it to the right people not us,” he said.
“I will not allow intimidation and those trying to threaten me let them know that am ready for anything and I am not a coward,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by the Lions Garden Unity self help group chairman Daniel Karanja who condemned the seven who are disputing the management of the premise.
“My appeal is to those who are disputing the management of the premise that they consult the county advocate since the matter is already decided through the MoU,”said Karanaja.
