Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is scheduled to give a keynote address at the Global Water Summit in Paris on plans to have a water desalination plant in Mombasa.
Joho left the county on Wednesday April 11, for an investor meeting over desalination of water for his electorates.
He had a fruitful engagement with the Secretary of State of the Spanish Government, Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Environment Ms. Maria Garcia and the Director General for Water Mrs. Liana in Madrid.
Spain is one of the leading Countries globally with sustainable desalination technologies.
The governor left for Paris alongside his Kilifi county counterpart Amason Kingi, Senator Stewart Madzayo and Lawyer Mosotah Dennis for the Global Water Summit.
Mombasa County Executive Member in charge of Water and Natural Resources Fatma Awale represented the County Government at the Summit on Monday.
She was nominated to speak on the desalination project as a solution to averting the Water shortage in Mombasa before Joho arrived.
