He said he had sacrificed a lot for Kenya and political leaders, and that it was his time to lead the Country.

According to Kalonzo, he is a focused leader who has the interest of Kenyans at heart, and that referring him to a water melon, was disrespectful.

"I no longer want to be called a water melon, because I am not one. I have done a lot for this Country. I sacrificed for Raila Odinga. My brother Odinga and I also sacrificed and allowed Mwai Kibaki to lead during 2007 elections. Why would you call me such names? From today I do not want to be called a water melon,'' Kalonzo said during Wiper National Delegates Conference, Tuesday.

Various persons called him 'water melon' due to his 'unpredictable' political moves.

He further called on Kenyans to support his 2017 presidential bid, as he looks forward to be nominated Cord presidential flag-bearer.

During the event held at the Safaricom stadium Kasarani, Wiper party delegates endorsed him as the party's 2017 presidential flag-bearer.
