A Utah man has announced he will be running for presidency in his native country, Kenya.

The Kansas City Star reports that Amram Musungu said he always wanted to run for the post to help Kenyans work, so as to get control of a country that he believes is ripe for a change.

The 39-year-old auditor and a married father of two landed in Utah years ago, to get a college education.

''He is a member of the Mormon religion and a former member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir,'' said the newspaper, April 10.

Musungu faces candidates such as president Uhuru Kenyatta, who have decades of experience working for the government.

Musungu lives in South Salt Lake, a suburb of Salt Lake City. He has dual citizenship from the United States and Kenya.

Utah is a state in the western United States. It became the 45th state admitted to the U.S on January 4, 1896.

It is the 13th-largest by area, 31st-most-populous, and 10th-least-densely populated of the 50 United States.
