The price of fruits at DC Market in Kibera has dropped following a decreased number of customers this season.

Speaking on Tuesday morning at the market, a fruit vendor, Angela Cheruyot, said she had to decrease the price of her fruits in order to get customers who seem to have felt the January hit since they no longer buy the fruits.

''I dropped the price from sh50 for every 3 fruits to sh20 for 3 fruits in order to get customers. Since the beginning of this month, I have not been receiving customers like before. I thought dropping the price will enable me to sell but unfortunately, that has bore no fruit,'' she said.

She further said that she has no plans to add the stock of fruits since this season, they have been a burden for her to sell.

"In  day, I can only sell like sh100 worth of fruits and sometimes, I do not sell at all. If the fruits market continues like it is now I would rather change and do another business,'' said Cheruyot.
