ODM party could yet again suffer a huge loss in Kisii after incumbent County MP; Mary Otara hinted a possible move to a rival party.
Despite ushering Ambassador Sam Ongeri to the party last week, ODM lost Senator Chris Obure and Deputy Governor Joash Maangi to Jubilee Party.
And Otara has now taken a swipe on the party’s county leadership for continued sidelining her from the party’s major functions.
“I am treated like a stranger yet I pay monthly subscriptions to the party. As a matter of courtesy, the party’s structure should inform all leaders whenever there is a function within the county,” she told reporters.
Otara further said: I only rely of staunch party supporters for information and this is a clear indication that they no longer need me.”
Although Ms. Otara did not disclose her preferred party ahead of August polls, sources indicate that she could be moving to Jubilee Party.
Her impatience within the ODM party is believed to have been greatly influenced by nominated Janet Ong’era’s decision to join Women Representative race, given that she served at some point as ODM Chief Executive.
