Consumers of petrol, diesel, and kerosene will have to dig deeper into their pockets after the ERC announced a surge in pump prices.
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Sunday announced that petrol price will rise by Sh2.13 per litre, Sh2.39 for diesel, while kerosene goes up by Sh3.36 per litre.
ERC said the changes to this month's pump prices is attributed to increasing in the landed cost of Super Petrol by 3.99 percent as compared to December 2017, Diesel increased by 4.6 percent and Kerosene by 6.36 percent.
The regulator said it was committed to the observance of fair competition and protection of the interest of both consumers and investors in the energy sector.
