“In this month’s review, ERC has factored Sh6 per litre in additional road maintenance levy for both super petrol and diesel in line with the road maintenance levy fund (Imposition of Levy) (Amendment) Order, 2016,” read a statement posted on the ERC website.

This means that Super Petrol increases to Sh97.50 per litre, Diesel increases to Sh87.81 per litre while Kerosene increases to Sh66.02 per litre.

However, according to local media report, the upward adjustment has been necessitated by an increment of Sh6 on the road maintenance levy that the Treasury secretary, Henry Rotich earlier announced to the product cost during his June budget reading.
