Matatu Saccos using the Nakuru main stage have called on Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to fulfil his promise of renovating the terminus.
The Bahama Sacco and the MTW Sacco officials said the current state of the busy terminus is wanting and called on the governor to intervene.
Speaking Monday at Nakuru Town, Benson Mwangi of Bahama sacco and Timothy Kinyua of MTW Sacco said Mbugua had promised them that the terminus was to be renovated early this year but since then nothing has not happened.
“We fear that if the El Nino rains start today we will have problems because this terminus will be total hell. The county government had promised to renovate and modernise this place but a year has passed and nothing has been done so far," Mwangi said.
"We are wondering where the money that was meant to do this work went to and why was it diverted to other projects,” said Mwangi.
Kinyua said that they have petitioned the county government over the same issue but they are yet to receive any response.
“We have been waiting for this work to be done and we have even written to them through the different Saccos here but they are yet to respond. We hope they will soon act before the long rains begin for the good of thousands who rely on our services,” said Kinyua.
