Musyoka says that water remains a serious challenge facing residents in Machakos.

She claims that governor Mutua has not fulfilled his promise of drilling over 800 boreholes and dams across the county.

“Governor Mutua should fulfill the promise he made to Machakos residents in regards to water,” she said during an interview on Citizen TV on Saturday.

Dr Musyoka stated that locals are still walking long distances in search of water.

She indicated that water is the most important basic need that the county government should give to the people.

The Machakos Women leader attributed high poverty levels in some parts of Machakos to lack of water.

“The biggest problem in Machakos is lack of water and we hope the governor will address the issues so that people can be supplied with clean water,” she said.

At the same time, Dr Musyoka asked the county government to initiate empowerment programs for women.

She observed that empowering women will set a platform for realization of social economic development.

Dr Musyoka also announced her intention to seek re-election for the Women representative seat in the 2017 election.
