Business community from Kisii County has challenged the incumbent Governor James Ongwae to fulfill his pledges before next year’s general election if he wants to be re-elected.
According to the business community led by their chairman Walter Nyakundi, Governor James Ongwae promised to construct shades so that the business community people can get a friendly environment for their business.
Speaking to this writer on Tuesday at Kisii town, Nyakundi accused the governor of failing to fulfill the promises after he visited the business pledges.
He added that the town is receiving heavy rain and the places are now in a pathetic state because of poor drainage.
“When the governor visited the business places he pledged that two weeks after his tour the county was to construct the places but to date, it remains a riddle since nothing has been done,” said Nyakundi.
“We expected that after the pledges the county was to make sure that the work was to be done in time, but now we are approaching the next polls without much done,” he added.
Nyakundi was worried about what the county is doing with the money they collect from the business people while they are not delivering any service.
“Each day we are being taxed but we wonder why the county cannot construct better market spaces,” he added.
