Kenya has finally presented names of members who will represent the country in the East Africa Legislative Assembly.

The lists of the members include seven former MPs and two youthful legislators, who will represent the house in the regional assembly.

Top of the list is Raila Odinga’s brother Oburu Odinga, whose name raised questions on the criteria used to pick the members.

Those elected on a Jubilee ticket are;

Former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua got the majority votes, garnering 286 votes. Flowrence Jematiah Sergon, who is the youngest of the members received (252 votes, former Mandera North MP Aden Nooru Mohammed (192), former Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi (208) and former Nyandarua Woman Rep Wanjiku Muhia (180).

The opposition, NASA, voted in Kennedy Musyoka, son to Kalonzo Musyoka, who garnered (309 votes, former Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden (235), Dr Oginga (243) and former Wajir Woman Rep Fatuma Ibrahim Ali (142).

Picking of the members has been a cagey affair, with the wrangles affecting operations at the regional assembly.
