The County Government of Uasin Gishu is planning to write a protest letter to the Senate expressing dissatisfaction on the criteria used to select counties that maintained financial discipline.
This is after the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) recently awarded 18 counties with Sh6.3 billion for the good use of their funds.
But Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago says his administration deserves to be among the counties sharing the money as it has also maintained financial discipline since 2013.
Mandago cast doubts over the criteria used to pick the counties that would benefit from the incentive.
"I am going to write to the Senate petitioning them on which basis was used in picking the 18 counties," he said.
"Come and look at the projects we have done and go to other counties then compare," added the Governor.
The vocal Jubilee county boss said if Senate will not address their concerns, they will move to court to challenge the criteria used.
"We have never misappropriated funds, we have built ECDE classes, bridges, empowered farmers, built milk cooling plants, built roads. Uasin Gishu should get that share. We are always transparent," he insisted.
According to CRA, counties that will share the Sh6.3 billion for being financially disciplined include Mombasa, Machakos, Samburu, Bomet, Kilifi, Kericho, Turkana, Masarbit, Siaya, Embu, Nyandarua, Kisumu, Baringo, Makueni, Meru, Bungoma, and Nandi.
