This comes few days after the county chief was publicly booed by hundreds of county residents at a burial of former North Mugirango MP Geoffrey Masanya who protested over under development in the region.

According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to sensitivity of the matter, Nyagarama took the five hour meeting to unleash on CeCs who were allegedly under performing.

“The governor was unhappy with some of his officials and he summoned them to seek answers. He seized the opportunity to warn those who are under-performing and challenged them to work faster to realize some of his 2013 election pledges,” said the source.

“He demanded action from the officials and warned them of a sack if their departments continued lagging behind it terms of implementation of projects,” added the source.

The source also said Nyagarama warned his officials against engaging in corruption related deals and banned unnecessary meetings confined by the leaders.

“The governor has also extensively talked about corruption where he called for openness in transaction of county businesses. He said those involved in such cases will be relieved off their duties and also banned holding of many unnecessary meetings as a way of curbing bloated expenditures,” said the source.

Nyagarama has been under immense pressure from a section of electorates led by top gubernatorial aspirants who feels that he has under-performed a part from allegedly perpetuating clanism and nepotism in the county government.
