According to Kidero's submission, Mr Koinange hosted Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna on November 16 and gave the latter airtime to call Kidero a thief on national television.

The governor said that Koinange deliberately failed to stick to standards of journalism, allowing Miguna to throw libel at him (Kidero).

He says that the allegations have been being made on the same programme at least four different times and that Koinange has been encouraging it against journalistic ethics.

“I am writing to you as a custodian of journalist ethics and standards to look into the issues and take necessary quality assurance,” Kidero said in the petition.

In the last two episodes devoted to hosting Nairobi gubernatorial aspirants, Kidero has failed to appear on the show.
