Juja legislator Waititu Munyua has asked Gachororo village residents to embrace unity and live in peace to foster development.
Speaking to residents on Monday, the MP said that development will only be realised if residents accept each other. He asked residents to shun leaders’ perpetuating hatred saying that tribalism will not help but increase poverty levels.
“We should embrace each other and live in peace so that our area can register development,” he said.
The MP promised to oversee repair of roads in the village and ensure residents have access to clean water.
Munyua also asked needy students in the area to apply for bursary funds and scholarships being provide by the Constituent development Fund (CDF). He said that existence of the CDF has seen many needy students access education which he observed is the key to development.
The legislator also asked local leaders in the area to ensure security of residents is guaranteed. He urged them to embrace security initiates being implemented by the government saying that it’s the only way crime rate will reduce.
At the same time, the MP called on the county government to exercise accountability in use and distribution of resources being provided by the national government.
He said that the county has a responsibility to ensure that all residents benefit from the resources from the national government. He further asked the county assembly to keep the county on toes to ensure development funds are used wisely.
