When she took the stage to pay tribute to her beloved husband in her heartfelt eulogy, Gakuru's wife Catherine blew the minds of many Kenyans with the grace with which she bore her loss.

The soft-spoken mother of three boys narrated her fairytale love story with Dr. Wahome Gakuru that started at the University of Nairobi culminating in marriage.

In her eulogy, Catherine took a swipe at the media over its coverage of the grisly death of her husband.

She bemoaned the insensitivity and carelessness that some media outlets in the country demonstrated when covering Gakuru's demise.

''And to my fellow citizens and especially the media, a little sensitivity at a time such as this would go a long way in helping us grieve. And I want to say to every one of you before you speak before you write, do the filter test... Is it true, is it kind, is it necessary? If it doesn't meet any of that criteria, please don't speak it, don't voice it. Again I go to scripture, I said we are a family anchored in scripture. The Bible says God will judge us for every word we utter.'' Catherine said as she expressed her gratitude to those who stood with her family during the trying times.

Dr. Wahome Gakuru was laid to rest at his Kirichu home in Nyeri.
