Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant David Kariuki Ngari popularly known as Gakuyo has called for tolerance among politicians seeking elective seats in the August 8 general elections.
Gakuyo says that politicians whether in government or opposition must tone down and focus on peaceful campaigns and elections.
Speaking during an interview on K24 on Tuesday, the real estate tycoon warned that intolerance among politicians could be a recipe for chaos ahead of the much anticipated August polls.
“Political aspirants must tolerate each other and stop engaging in acts that could easily resort to violence,” said the real estate tycoon.
The aspirant cautioned politicians against spewing inflammatory statements in their campaigns.
Gakuyo also cautioned Kenyans against being swayed by violent politicians. He noted that some politicians are out to preach hate and animosity ahead of the polls.
“We must remain vigilant and keep off politicians who are known to spew hatred in their campaigns,” he said.
Gakuyo at the same time urged Kiambu locals mostly youths to register as voters when the exercise kicks off next week.
He said that the change that Kenyans have been yearning will be realized if they register as voters and also take part in the August 8 general election.
Gakuyo is seeking to unseat incumbent William Kabogo who has vowed to defend his seat in the August 8 polls.
