A 31-year-old man is said to have committed suicide after losing Sh9,000 to a bet in Bondo in Suna West.
The man is said to have spent the money for gambling at a pool game before committing suicide by throwing himself into Nyamome dam.
He is said to have gone missing for two days.
His body was retrieved from the dam on Monday.
The deceased left home on Saturday morning and told his wife that he was going to collect money from a friend.
Kennedy Okinyi is believed to have become stressed after the lose and decided to take away his life.
His father, Peter Oganda, said that he suspects that his son committed suicide following the devastating occurrences at a pool game on Friday.
His clothes were found near Nyamome Dam that Saturday by locals who had gone to fetch water for domestic use prompting a search.
Confirming the incident, Wasweta II sub location chief, Millicent Atieno Tinga said investigations have been launched into the incident and cautioned all gamblers in the area not to commit suicide in case they lose.
