Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Naikoru on Tuesday said business people hiding the gambling devices at their homes should surrender them to police."We are not leaving anything to chance, gambling must come to an end in Nyamira County. Those with the gambling machines hidden in their house have until Monday to surrender or to face the full force of the law," he said.Nakoru asked police not to spare anyone in the crackdown because gambling has led to increased crimes among the youths."Any police officer found favoring gamblers will be sacked, arrested and charged in court. Minor theft cases is on the rise because children have been stealing from parents to get money to place bets," he added.The commissioner urged parents to take their children to school without fail."Parents whose children dropped school due to gambling should take them back to get education to better their future," said Nakoru.
