Police in Kwale are probing an incident in which unknown persons broke into a cottage in Diani and robbed two tourists more than Sh100, 000 and other valuables on Tuesday morning. According to the Nation, the unknown persons forced their way into Kebene Cottage in Diani at around 3am before they made away with cash, passports, a laptop and mobile phones.Confirming the robbery incident, Msambweni OCPD Joseph Chebusit said that security officers have launched a manhunt for the suspects.He also said that the tourists were not hurt during the attack and asked the local residents to share any information that could lead to their arrest. Chebusit further assured residents of the security personnel’s commitment to deal with criminal gangs in the area after the victims reported the matter at Diani Police Station"We are going to deal with anyone who is going to cause harm to innocent people but we are urging the public to cooperate with security officers in order to curb crime," he said.The police boss also said that there is no cause for alarm because the robbery was an isolated incident.
