Residents of Naivasha Site and services now have raised concern over a gang using acid to open padlocks in the area The residents cited that the gang has been targeting houses that have been left vacant during the holiday season. “We already have heard of cases where the houses have been broken into and cans of acid recovered near the houses. Yet, the pad locks have been melted completely,” said Byron Geogisaidise, a youth leader. He cited that their investigations had pinpointed various suppliers of the acid who have been selling the liquid to the gang. “We call on the residents to be extra vigilant as the thieves are becoming cunning,” he added Bernice Wangui, who has been a victim, said she came home to find everything in her house stolen yet the door remained intact. “I was unaware until I saw some empty containers and when we tried to look into the contents we found that it contained acid. “ she added Area OCS John Owouth said that they already had started preliminary investigations of the gang. “We have already started tracking down the thieves and we hope to catch them soon,” he added
