A businessman in Eastleigh died after he was shot by unknown gunmen in a Wednesday night incidence where the gunmen made away with an unknown amount of money.

35-year-old Mustafa Sheikh was at Kenzi Enterprise Ltd operating an M-Pesa shop when the five came as customers before confronting him for the cash.

After a brief altercation with the businessman, one of the gang members drew his pistol and shot him in the shoulder before escaping.

Sheikh died while being rushed to the hospital for treatment while the gang members are said to have escaped on foot.

Cases of armed crime in Eastleigh are on the rise with Majority leader Aden Duale’s bodyguard having been robbed of his pistol last month.

In June, a gang that had hijacked a passenger bus shot dead a police officer who had boarded the bus oblivious of the siege.
