The attendant was closing the shop when a gang attacked him demanding for the day’s collection.

When the shop attendant refused to cooperate, the gang shot him twice in the stomach and thigh and made away with an unknown amount of money.

Mohamed Rashid Dagoretti police boss confirmed the incident and said the victim who is yet to be named was rushed to Kijabe hospital where is being treated.

“The victim is responding well to medication at Kijabe hospital after he was shot by the armed gang,” said Rashid.

He called on members of the public to be calm as police pursue the criminals.

“The public should help police with information which will lead to the arrest of the suspects who are still at large. We will arrest and arraign the suspects in court,” he assured.

He warned local youths against engaging in crime saying the law will not spare anyone because no one is allowed to terrorize residents.
