Ganze Member of parliament Teddy Mwambire on Wednesday assured students who have failed to continue with higher education due to lack of school fees that they will be assisted to pursue their education.

Mwambire said that by doing so the students would later help in fighting poverty among their own families in the constituency.

Ganze has been reported as the most poverty-stricken constituency in Kilifi County and Mwambire promised to change that fact to a transformed Ganze in his time of service.

According to Mwambire the constituency bursary kitty and the KSH. 350 million set aside by the Kilifi County government will be used to revive the education sector and help students from less fortunate families.

Speaking at Ganze primary school in Kilifi on Wednesday after meeting the students, Mwambire said that it was only through clear education plans that the constituency would have a long-term transformation system.

He said that he had a vision of changing the constituency as it has remained in the same poverty status for a very long time.

“I want the local to see how their vote is worthy, I will work with them to ensure that we transform this constituency,” he said.

He said that he will also seek assistance from other donors who have already shown interest in uplifting talents among youth in the constituency so that the constituency can move forward.

“This is a long-term investment and we should not be reported as a poverty-stricken County in the future but a well-developed constituency,” he added.

Some of the students will benefit from full scholarships and some assisted to join higher learning institutions.

Already, Kilifi governor Amason Jeffa Kingi has vowed to uplift the education standard in the County, by ensuring all the performing students are assisted to pursue their higher education.

“However we will not focus on driving school sponsorship again among our youth since we have seen no impact at all despite as spending millions of shillings taking our youth to driving schools many still remain jobless,” he noted.
