The Nairobi county government has nabbed a private garbage collector dumping litter illegally.

County officials were alerted of the Wednesday incident and rushed to the scene to catch the suspect in the act.

Taking to Facebook after the arrest, Nairobi governor Mike Sonko hailed the officers for a job well done and warned that future acts of illegal dumping will attract the same consequences.

"Private garbage collector arrested dumping takataka behind Panari Hotel, Mombasa Road. I salute Mr Ogutu (NCCG Embakasi South Sub-County Deputy Commandant) for leading the mission towards the arrest," Sonko said. 

"Step by step we shall overcome the chronic affliction of civic deviance in Nairobi," he added.
