Kisii County Government Disaster Management Committee chairman, Patrick Lumumba, has urged residents to keep calm as the bodies of county's students who died in Garissa University College attack arrive home.
The bodies are expected to arrive home this afternoon for interdenominational prayers to be held in Gusii Stadium.
Addressing journalists in his office at the county's Block B offices, Lumumba asked for tolerance as the community mourns the 12.
"On behalf of the Kisii Governor I am calling on the Gusii community members to exercise tolerance as we gave them our final respect,” said Lumumba.
He disclosed that the bodies will arrive in Kisii and be received by leaders from the county led by Governor Ongwae, before interdenominational prayers to be conducted in Gusii Stadium.
Lumumba clarified that, there will be a mini-fundraiser today (Monday) at the Gusii stadium after the arrival of the bodies.
Those who will not make it to Gusii stadium can channel their donations to the Kisii County Benovelent Fund established by Governor Ongwae for the Garissa Attack Massacre victims and families.
