A highly competitive final match in the North Eastern Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom is expected today, as Al-Hayat from Wajir will battle it out with Ifpo from Garissa County.

The two teams qualified for the finals after winning their respective semifinal matches on Saturday, in games played at the Garissa University grounds.

Ifpo, which is based in Garissa won the first semifinal, thrashing Daadab-based Jack Boys 3-0 at the same venue.

The team entertained the home crowd that cheered them on from the kickoff whistle, and they did not disappoint.

However, the second semifinal pitting Wajir based Al-Hayat and Jamia from Mandera was the most entertaining, with both teams showing high-level skills.

The match served many as the final before the final, with players giving their best despite playing in a dusty pitch and under the scorching sun.

Ahmed Sabri was the man of the match, notching a brace to help his team sail into the final.

He put his side ahead in the 25th minute, forcing the keeper to punch the ball into his own net after some good work on the wing.

The tricky winger, who was the standout player in the match, then grabbed his brace before the interval, slotting from close range after some good interchange play.

Speaking after the match, Sabri said the win was not by chance, and they deserved to win.

“We won because we deserved it, it was not by chance, we played a good match and we deserved to win,” he said.
