Addressing the media in Garissa town on Saturday, Abdi said the debate on the budgetary estimates has taken a political wing, adding that a number of MCAs are never concerned about the priority needs of residents.

“It is now a high time that MCAs realise the Sh7billion budget estimates belong to the residents of Garissa County, which is bigger than any one of us. MCAs should stop their stomach politics and resolve issues with sobriety,” he said.

Abdi alleged that some MCAs wanted to shoot down the budget just because they are at loggerheads with the governor.

It is only last week that Governor Nathif Jama met county MCAs in a bid to resolve the stalemate that has largely paralysed service delivery in the county
