A section of elders from Garissa County now wants the government to expedite investigations into a controversial audio allegedly by National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale.

The speaker in the audio, who is believed to be Duale, is heard calling for eviction of Kamba community from Garissa Township.

Led by former Garissa Town Council Chairman Amey Dubat, they challenged the government to carry out proper investigations and bring the culprit into books of justice.

"The government has machinery to investigate the issue and take appropriate actions. We demand that the audio is investigated and the culprit subjected to the rule of law because we are peace loving people," he said.

"We have lived peacefully here wit other communities and we cannot accept politicians to divide us. We want that peaceful coexistence to be embraced by all of us at any time," he added.

Dubat also cautioned politician against making a political capital out of the audio, insisting that they should refrain from discussing the matter till investigations are carried out.

"Those leaders who are using the audio to gain politically should give us a break. We want investigations to be done first before we engage in unnecessary political wars. This could even incite our people," he added insisting that the Somali and Kamba community had no differences.
