Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama has slammed House majority leader Aden Duale, saying that the lawmaker was completely off-track with the comments he made over the weekend at a campaign rally.
Duale allegedly asked county residents to vote out Governor Jama, and instead vote in governor hopeful Ali Korane in the forthcoming General elections.
“If you are interested in the Governor's seat Bwana Duale, wewe ingia kiwanjani bila kuchelewa, sio unaropokwa ropokwa vitu ambavyo havina maana,” said the governor, which loosely translates to:
“If you are interested in the governor's seat Mr. Duale, just join the race without hesitation; don't go about saying things that are of no importance.
Jama further asked leaders to stop using their political rallies to incite residents.
“Leaders who claim to be leaders and go out in the public forums, public places, and they do or make incitement statements, know that the county government must do its work.” added Governor Jama.
