Garissa County MCAs have blamed the County Public Service Board over a bloated workforce even as more employees were sent home.
The ward reps led by Minority leader Mohamed Ali said the county government should give a notice to the county employees before sacking them.
Ali said it is illegal to sack employees without giving them a sacking notice.
He said the board should be responsible since it was legally mandated to employ county staff.
The MCA noted that the board had been silent when senior staffs were employing workers on claims of delegated authority.
He however, added that the MCAs support the county governor in reducing the huge wage bill.
Governor Ali Korane recently said the bloated workforce has contributed to an unsustainable wage bill to a tune of Sh5.4 billion annually.
The Jubilee governor said the county will sack ghost workers who were working in the previous government.
