Garissa and Marsabit are some of the counties that will benefit from this safe and affordable source of energy, which is aimed at protecting the environment and realizing digital literacy programme (DLP).

Learning institutions will be the main target as the government rolls out the project that is aimed at increasing power supply and heating options.

The initiative will increase trade and ease the implementation of the tablet project in schools that are out of reach of the national hydroelectric power grid.

Speaking in Marsabit County at at Korr Primary school, Sunkuli said, they recently launched equipment for solar heating and solar power supply as part of the program by the government in contributing towards low emissions technologies.

"Rather than using ozone depleting technologies, we are using the most environmentally sound technologies of solar energy to provide solar heating and power supply for various installations and especially to support digital learning programme in Kenya we use the solar energy as well as other renewable energy,’’ he said.
