Concerns have been raised over the disbursement of funds at Garissa level 5 hospital.
MCA's in the area are insisting that the health institution has not received any funds from the national government.
Addressing the press at the County Assembly chambers, Mohamed Abdullahi who chairs the County Health Committee said in the financial year 2015/16 Garissa level 5 was allocated Sh360 million in a conditional grant from the national treasurer but only Sh144 million was disbursed.
It is believed that the remaining Sh216 million cannot be accounted for and may have been mismanaged by the executive.
The chairman of the County Health Committee also added that during the same financial year Sh50 million was allocated for free maternal health care and again only Sh5 million was received by the hospital.
But in a quick rejoinder, the finance CEC, Ahmed Aden who was flanked by other finance officials, termed the allegations as far-fetched and unfounded.
Aden said that if there were any complaints animating from any health department, the department should have approached the health committee of the assembly after which the committee summons the treasury officials to shed light on them.
He questioned the move by the MCA's to raise the issue now when the financial year was coming to an end.
This comes after the Sh783 million allocation funds by the national government were geared towards the county in the recent read budget.
