Garissa Township aspiring MCA Ahmed Abdi has alleged that the current team of elected ward representatives are sleeping on their jobs, urging the electorate to root out such incompetent leaders who are a liability to them.
Making reference to the incumbent Garissa Township MCA, Abdi disclosed that the incumbent Hussein Kassim has never delivered tangible initiatives to his area of representation, and thus needs to be locked out of the race.
While drumming support for himself, Abdi issued that he would initiate a system that serves the electorate rather than enslaving them as exemplified by the current representation.
He also expressed concern that there is not even a single politician from the region who is addressing the plight of youths and women who form the bulk of the unemployed populace in the county.
“The vulnerability of youths and women has become an opportunity for elected politicians to use as a vehicle for their 2017 campaigns," he disclosed.
He, therefore, urged the electorate to exercise their power of democracy to elect competent leaders come the polling exercise.
