Garissa MCAs have urged local MPs to stop alleged interference in the management of the county’s affairs.
Last week, the county governor, Nathif Jama, the area senator and MPs from the area met in a hotel in Garissa in what they termed as a ’crisis’ meeting to discuss issues affecting the county.
The MCAs’ have, however, slammed the MPs for what they termed as interfering with the county’s internal affairs.
In a statement, the MCA’s said that there was no crisis in the county, urging the MPs to let the governor discharge his duties without interference.
“There is no crisis in Garissa County that warranted such meeting in secrecy,” they said in a statement.
“These MPs should shun from interfering. If there was a problem, we should have been the first to be consulted as key members in matters of devolution,” the statement read in part.
